No matter how deep your pain…. nurture yourself

selfLoveFortune3The farther I journey this life and the more people who touch me with their lives, the more I see that many amazing loving people in this generation are holding the pains of not only their childhood and youth, but the pains of generations. And they are  bravely stepping into their journey of healing not only for themselves and their families; but for the future. The future of generations and the future of our planet. The future for everyone.

It hits me deeply through my heart to see so many astonishing people of pure heart in our midst that are sitting on the cusp of healing for all that came before. And so many are unaware because the pain that comes with this healing can feel all engulfing.

Hang on….. a roller coaster can be fearful…. or filled with laughter.

Be the change

There is something deep in me, that always has been there, and it is a strong desire to make a difference. And it always overwhelmed me at how was I possibly supposed to do this. I feel I am so small, and my abilities to reach many people or create changes that could even possibly have far-reaching consequences seemed so limited that in my mind I felt that this giant task of ‘making a difference’ was never going to be possible. I think many of us feel this way. And the truth is so far from this limiting notion.

It is far too long since I have put pen to paper (sounds so much nicer than fingers to keys; despite the reality) and I have missed blogging and reaching out to readers. The truth be told, work has been busy, end of year taxes created a forced hibernation, and then I gallivanted off to San Diego for the Institute for Integrative Medicine’s 3rd Annual Conference in Integrative Medicine http://www.theifim.com/events. More about this in a future blog about the whole fabulous experience.

I wanted to reach out and touch a few hearts today; and centre you back into feeling universal love and support. To remind you how you never walk alone and that in the moments where you may feel dreadfully and utterly alone in this world truly you are not; you are always supported and surrounded by love.

Love is Everything….

This week I saw many lessons of LOVE.

The most powerful love I felt was in my clinic room, and was the love of a mother; and the angel that was around her. It filled my room with a golden light that words cannot even describe. And I realised that without love in our hearts, both my client and I would not have seen or experienced this love either.

Do you know how truly loved and supported you are? If you stop and listen you can feel it… there are no words to describe it but you will know. And when you start to ‘listen’ the answers will come even when you don’t even know the question.

Andrea Cullen – Depression and psychological healing

Thanks so much to Keegan for highlighting my comments. Depression, mood problems, anxiety, sensitivity, and feeling lost are emotions that are close to my heart. As a sensitive I feel what is going on for my patients, it goes right through me. This is not always easy to feel, this however is so very important to me gaining true empathy. Some day i will write more about my journey and how this can be of help to others, and help you feel that you are not alone. Your aren’t. For the moment i will say folks, sit with the emotions as they come up, it may be too intense for you alone so then ask for help. Ask your body and emotions what is trying to come up for healing? What are you being told?

Emotional health may be imbalanced for many reasons: nutritional deficiencies (macro and micro): poor diet: meal skipping: stress: functional imbalances (e.g. thyroid, inflammation, gastrointestinal problems, liver congestion, oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage); biomechanical imbalances and pain; viruses, parasites and infections; environmental toxicity (e.g. toxic heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, food additives); medication side effects; life circumstances: people around us; and traumas. Never discount the power of a trauma as a source of dis-ease. This trauma may be in your present, recent or distant past, even a birth trauma or a past life trauma is highly significant (yes my work and life has thrown me several curve balls to lead me to not doubt this). And although the incident may seem small and insignificant the power it has when it triggers a cellular memory can not be discredited. What happens then is that you really start to feel like you are losing a handle on it all, and shut it all off feeling like no one will understand. The right people will. A problem shared truly is a problem solved. If we hold it, we literally hold it. But it will be present and affect us somehow; it may appear as anxiety, insomnia, anger, fear, fatigue, depression, over-eating, under-eating, over-exercise, gastro-problems, throat infections, itchy skin; somehow it will try to get your attention. Trust yourself, follow the path to healing that feels right, go gently it is a learning journey, and in the meantime know that there are people like me and other amazing therapists to help. I have not touched on all the possible underlying factors for feeling ‘low’ or mental health problems, these are a few less obvious but very deep and powerful ones. love xx

 

My parents have been there every step of my journey; family has taught me the biggest lessons in life. The power of love, connectedness, gratitude, and forgiveness; love knows no limits (thankfully 🙂 ).

When i lived in the UK over 10 years ago i went through a spell of definitely being very low. my professional journey has taught me that the basics such as nourishing yourself and sleep are crucial. However my life journey has taught me the more important lessons, i hope you don’t mind i am going to go for it here!

Energy and mood are like the radars in our life that tell us information.When we are not happy in life, not doing what we are here to do, not connected to ourselves, our souls, our passions and desires, or when we are surrounded by people that we actually don’t resonate with, or are in the wrong relationships; our emotions (and energy) kick(s) out.
